Resumen
En este artículo se aborda el trabajo del lingüista Lucien Tesnière, con especial énfasis en su Gramática de Dependencias, con el objetivo de rescatar algunos de sus conceptos más importantes y el modo en que han recibido o no continuidad en los estudios gramaticales posteriores. Se consideran dos momentos en el pensamiento de Tesnière: un período morfológico y uno sintáctico. Ambas etapas comparten un fuerte interés por el trabajo comparatista y universalista. En el segundo momento, Tesnière desarrolla su Gramática de Dependencias, de la que destacamos un conjunto de elementos pioneros, tales como la autonomía de la sintaxis, la metodología introspectiva y la concepción del sistema lingüístico como un conjunto de componentes. Se analiza brevemente el modo en que algunos de estos conceptos son retomados y/o reinterpretados por la lingüística posterior, haciendo hincapié en las tradiciones anglosajona e hispanoamericana, en las cuales la Gramática de Dependencias tuvo una influencia limitada.
